Birok Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy outlines the commitments Birok makes to protect your personal information when you use our personal restoration journal app, built for anyone who breathes new life into worn, broken, or cherished old items. Birok is designed to help you document repair projects, track progress, store before/after photos, and organize your restoration archive -- with data ownership and privacy as our core design principles.

By using Birok, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

Information We Collect

The only information we may ever receive from you falls into two entirely voluntary categories:

• Optional Support Correspondence: If you choose to reach out to our team via email for bug reports, feature requests, or support queries, you may voluntarily provide your email address and a description of your issue. We only retain this information for as long as needed to resolve your request.
• Anonymous Usage Data (Opt-in Only): If you explicitly opt in to share anonymous usage statistics, we may receive aggregated, non-identifiable data about app features you use, to help us improve Birok for all users. This data never includes your project content, photos, or personal identifiers.

All other data you create within Birok -- including but not limited to before/after repair photos, damage descriptions, project category tags, timeline logs, and generated comparison images -- is stored exclusively on your personal device, and we have no access to this content at any point.

How We Use Your Information

• For data stored on your device: All processing (including photo editing for before/after comparisons, search and filter functions, and project detail edits) happens locally on your device. We never access, use, or share this content.
• For voluntary support correspondence: We only use your contact information and issue description to respond to your request, fix reported bugs, or implement requested features. We will never use your email to send marketing communications unless you explicitly opt in to receive updates.
• For optional anonymous usage data: We only use aggregated, non-identifiable data to prioritize feature development, fix performance issues, and improve the overall Birok experience.

Data Storage & Security

You retain full ownership and control of all restoration project data you create in Birok:

• Your entire project archive is stored only on your device's local storage. You can export, edit, or delete this data at any time directly within the app.
• Any backups of your Birok data are managed entirely by your device's native backup system (e.g. device cloud backups, local computer backups). Birok does not manage or have access to these backups.
• We do not implement any backdoors or remote access features that would allow us to view or modify your stored project data.

You are responsible for securing your device to protect your data, including using device passwords, biometric locks, and secure backup practices as you see fit.

Third-Party Services

Birok does not integrate with any third-party services that require access to your personal project data by default. If we add optional third-party integrations in future updates, we will clearly disclose what data is shared, for what purpose, and require your explicit opt-in consent before any data is shared.

Any third-party services we may use for support ticket management or anonymous usage analytics are bound by strict data protection obligations, and are prohibited from using any data we share for purposes outside of the services they provide to Birok.

Your Data Rights

As the full owner of your Birok data, you have the right to:

• Access, edit, export, or permanently delete all of your project data at any time directly through the Birok app.
• Request deletion of any support correspondence or contact information you have previously shared with our team.
• Opt out of any optional anonymous usage data sharing at any time through the app settings.
• Erase all Birok-related data from your device entirely by uninstalling the app.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, new features, or updated privacy best practices. When we make changes, we will notify you via an in-app announcement at least 30 days before the new policy takes effect. Your continued use of Birok after the new policy effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
